Hi All,

Spring has sprung!! March brought us crazy weather and hopefully
things will be more spring-like as April rolls along. To start the month we have a production of None of This and None of That being held at the Community Center in the Rose Marie room on Wednesday April 3rd at 1:30 pm. Promises to tickle your parochial school bone and bring a laugh or two. Admission is free and all are welcome.

In March there was a launch of the Get Alarmed Nahant initiative.
This program is in memory of three members of the Benson family, who died tragically in January from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Two of the Benson family members, John and Youngae, were active at the Council on Aging and this program has helped turn a negative into a positive. For more information, please read Chief Antrim’s statement on page 13.

April is also National Volunteer Month in the United States. This
month is dedicated to honoring all of the volunteers in our communities, and encouraging volunteerism throughout the month.

In 1991, President George H.W. Bush, declared volunteers as
“Points of Light” when he dedicated April as Volunteer Month
and designated it as a national event. The Nahant Council on Aging
has many Points of Light helping us out every day. Thank you to all: Linda Lehman, Peggy Silva, John Wynne, Maria Flannigan, Fran Ahern, Andrea Murphy, Annemarie Glowacz, Polly Anderson, Lorraine DiMuzio, Diane Locke, Carol Nelson, Ellen Antrim, Susan Cripps, Lisa Rizzo, Lana Mogan, Heather Johnson, Beth Walsh, Roz Puleo, Linda Poaletta, Gretchen Brien, Angela Bonin, Linda Spinnuci Peterson, Peter Davis, Edie Roland and Bryan McGilloway.

Have a wonderful spring.
Best,

Mary
